A 12.2″ 4G tablet with the extras already in the box
A 2.4K screen, the 6nm Unisoc T7300, 8GB of RAM, four speakers and a 9000 mAh battery, plus a Smart Book Cover, stylus and screen protector included. 4G LTE with Band 20 for Irish networks. Irish stock, Irish warranty.
Ulefone Tab A12 Pro: a big-screen tablet that works away from Wi-Fi
The Ulefone Tab A12 Pro is a 12.2-inch Android tablet built for films, schoolwork, video calls and working on the move. Its 12.2″ 2.4K screen runs at 1600 × 2400 and 90Hz, and Widevine L1 certification means Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video can play in HD rather than dropping to standard definition, which is common on budget tablets.
Inside is the 6nm Unisoc T7300 with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a microSD slot for cards up to 2TB. A 9000 mAh battery is rated for up to 623 hours on standby, and four speakers reach 103dB. It runs Android 16 with no ads in the system.
Two things set it apart in Ireland. It takes two nano SIM cards for 4G, with LTE Band 20, the 800MHz band Irish networks use for coverage outside towns. And the box already holds a Smart Book Cover, a capacitive stylus, a tempered glass screen protector and a charger, so there is nothing else to buy on day one.
Know three things before you buy. The stylus is a capacitive pen, not a pressure-sensitive active pen. Wi-Fi is Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth is 5.0, not the newest standards. And Ulefone doesn’t list a 3.5mm headphone jack, so use USB-C or Bluetooth headphones.

Order before 2pm on a working day for delivery the next working day, or spread the cost with Klarna.
12.2″ of 2.4K screen at 90Hz
The IPS panel measures 12.2 inches across and fills 86% of the front, so the bezels stay slim for a tablet this size. At 1600 × 2400 pixels it works out at about 236 pixels per inch, which keeps text in e-books, web pages and school documents sharp even when you sit close.
The 90Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and swiping look smoother than a standard 60Hz screen. Brightness peaks at 450 nits, which suits indoor use and shade better than direct sunlight, and an oleophobic coating helps fingerprints wipe off. Compared with the 11″ Redmi Pad 2, you get 1.2 inches more screen.
| Size | 12.2″ IPS LCD, 86% screen-to-body |
|---|---|
| Resolution | 1600 × 2400 (2.4K) |
| Refresh rate | 90Hz |
| Brightness | Max 450 nits |
| Coating | Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating |
Widevine L1 for HD Netflix and Disney+
Streaming services decide the picture quality from the tablet’s DRM level. Many low-cost Android tablets only carry Widevine L3, which limits Netflix and Prime Video to standard definition however good the screen is. The Tab A12 Pro is Widevine L1 certified, so those apps can send their HD streams.
On a 12.2-inch screen that difference is easy to see. Pair it with the four speakers and the 9000 mAh battery and it works as a portable TV for long journeys, the kitchen or a child’s room. Actual quality still depends on your subscription, your connection and each app’s own updates.
- Widevine L1 DRM certification
- HD playback in Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video
- 12.2″ 2.4K screen with an 86% screen-to-body ratio
- Quad speakers up to 103dB
Four speakers, up to 103dB
There is a speaker in each corner of the frame, so the sound stays in stereo whether you hold the tablet in landscape for a film or upright for a video call. Each one is a 1217 box speaker rated at 1W, four watts in total, with a maximum loudness of 103dB.
That is loud enough to fill a kitchen or a hotel room without a Bluetooth speaker. Ulefone doesn’t list a 3.5mm headphone jack on this model, so for private listening use Bluetooth 5.0 earbuds or USB-C headphones. The Redmi Pad 2 also has four speakers, but a smaller 11-inch screen.
| Speakers | 4 × 1217 box speakers |
|---|---|
| Power | Max 1W × 4 |
| Loudness | Max 103dB |
| Wireless audio | Bluetooth 5.0 |
7.5 mm thin for a 12.2″ tablet
The Tab A12 Pro measures 277.8 × 191.5 mm and only 7.5 mm deep, close to the Redmi Pad 2’s 7.36 mm despite the bigger screen and battery. It weighs 610 g, about the same as a hardback book, and comes in a single Space Gray finish with a flat-edged frame.
At that weight it is comfortable on a lap or a desk, and the included Smart Book Cover props it up when your arms tire. Ulefone puts its tablets through lab durability tests, including 300 tumble tests and 5,000 USB plug cycles, which suits a tablet that will be passed around a family.
| Dimensions | 277.8 × 191.5 × 7.5 mm |
|---|---|
| Weight | 610 g |
| Colour | Space Gray |
| Lab tests | 300+ tumble tests, 5,000+ USB plug cycles |
The 6nm Unisoc T7300
The T7300 has two Arm Cortex-A78 cores at 2.2GHz for demanding tasks and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz for everyday work, built on a 6nm process that keeps heat and battery drain down. Graphics run on an Arm Mali-G57 at 950MHz, and Ulefone quotes an AnTuTu score of 614,904.
In practice that handles streaming, browsing, video calls, office apps, homework and popular casual games without fuss. It is not a gaming flagship, so the heaviest 3D titles will need lower settings. For a tablet at this price, the A78 cores are what make split-screen and app switching feel quick.
- Unisoc T7300, 6nm, octa-core up to 2.2GHz
- 2× Cortex-A78 2.2GHz + 6× Cortex-A55 2.0GHz
- Arm Mali-G57 GPU at 950MHz
- AnTuTu score of 614,904 (Ulefone lab figure)
8GB of RAM and room for 2TB more
The Tab A12 Pro has 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, twice the 4GB in the Redmi Pad 2 4G, which lets more apps stay open in the background without reloading. Dynamic memory expansion can borrow up to 8GB more from storage, switched on in Settings, though real RAM is always faster.
Storage is 128GB of UFS 2.1, and the card slot takes microSD cards up to 2TB for downloaded films, photos and offline maps. The slot is shared with the second SIM, so you choose either two SIM cards or one SIM and a memory card. The card is sold separately; Class 10 is recommended.
| RAM | 8GB LPDDR4X, + up to 8GB dynamic |
|---|---|
| Storage | 128GB UFS 2.1 |
| microSD | Up to 2TB (shares the second SIM slot) |
9000 mAh, and it can charge your phone
The battery is 9000 mAh typical (8940 mAh rated), the same capacity as the Redmi Pad 2. Ulefone rates it for up to 623 hours on standby, 41 hours of talk time over 4G and 23 hours of music, so a tablet left in a bag for a week still has charge when you need it.
It charges at up to 18W over USB-C, and an 18W charger is included in the box. Wired reverse charging lets you top up a phone or earbuds from the tablet with a USB-C cable, which is handy on a long trip. The battery is built in and not user-replaceable.
| Capacity | 9000 mAh (typ) / 8940 mAh (rated) |
|---|---|
| Standby | Up to 623 hours |
| Talk time | Up to 41 hours |
| Charging | 18W, USB Type-C, charger included |
| Reverse charging | Wired, over USB-C |
Dual SIM 4G with Band 20 for Ireland
Put a data SIM in the Tab A12 Pro and it works anywhere your phone does, without tethering. It takes two nano SIMs on 4G at once and supports VoLTE calls. Crucially for Ireland, it covers LTE Band 20 (800MHz), which Three, Vodafone and Eir use to reach rural areas and to get signal indoors.
That is a real difference from the Redmi Pad 2 4G, whose LTE doesn’t include Band 20. At home it connects over dual-band Wi-Fi 5 on 2.4GHz and 5GHz, and Bluetooth 5.0 handles earbuds and keyboards. GPS, GLONASS, Beidou and Galileo make it usable as a large sat-nav screen in the car.
| 4G LTE | FDD B1/2/3/4/5/7/8/18/19/20/25/26/28A/28B/66; TDD B34/38/39/40/41 |
|---|---|
| SIM | Dual nano SIM, dual 4G standby, VoLTE |
| Wi-Fi | 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2.4GHz and 5GHz |
| Bluetooth | 5.0 |
| Location | GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo |

13MP for documents and quick photos
The rear camera uses a 13MP Samsung S5K3L8 sensor behind a five-element f/2.2 lens. On a tablet its real job is scanning: homework sheets, receipts, whiteboards and forms come out sharp enough to read, and Google Lens is built into the camera app for translating or copying text.
It records video at up to 2K and 30fps, and the app includes night, portrait, panorama and pro modes. Tablets are awkward cameras, so treat this as a useful extra rather than a reason to buy. Still, 13MP is a step up from the 8MP rear camera on the Redmi Pad 2.
| Sensor | 13MP Samsung S5K3L8, 1.12µm |
|---|---|
| Lens | 5-element, f/2.2, 77.5° field of view |
| Video | 2K, 1080p and 720p at 30fps |
| Modes | Night, Portrait, Panorama, Pro, Google Lens |
5MP for video calls and online classes
The front camera is a 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 with an f/2.2 lens and a 76° field of view, recording at up to 1080p. That is the resolution Zoom, Teams, Google Meet and WhatsApp send in a call, so you don’t lose anything by it not being higher.
Combined with the 12.2-inch screen, the four speakers and 4G, the tablet makes a good fixed point for remote lessons or calls with family abroad. The Smart Book Cover holds it at a steady angle on a table, so you don’t have to hold it for an hour-long class.
- 5MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor, f/2.2, 76° field of view
- 1080p, 720p and 480p video at 30fps
- Portrait mode and gesture shutter

Android 16, with no ads
The Tab A12 Pro ships with Android 16, the current version of Google’s system, close to stock and without the advertising some budget tablets add to the home screen and settings. Google Play and Google’s apps, including Gemini, come preinstalled.
On a 12.2-inch screen, split-screen makes real sense: a video lesson on one side and notes on the other, or email beside a document. Ulefone also preinstalls its Service Center app for manuals and support. Starting on Android 16 rather than an older version means apps will keep supporting it for longer.
- Android 16, pure Android with no ads
- Google Play and Gemini
- Split-screen for two apps at once
- Ulefone Service Center app for support
A capacitive pen for notes and sketches
A capacitive stylus comes in the box. It works like a precise fingertip, so it suits handwritten notes, marking up PDFs, colouring apps and tapping small buttons, and it needs no pairing or charging. It works with any note-taking app from Google Play.
Be clear on what it isn’t: there is no pressure sensitivity or palm rejection, as you would get from an active pen on a more expensive tablet. For quick notes and children’s drawing it is more than enough, and it is one less accessory to buy separately.
- Capacitive stylus included
- No pairing or charging needed
- Not pressure-sensitive
A Smart Book Cover that doubles as a stand
The Smart Book Cover is in the box rather than a separate purchase. It wraps the screen and back, protecting against scratches in a bag, and folds into a stand so the tablet sits at an angle for films, recipes and video calls.
The tablet has a Hall sensor, the part that lets a smart cover put the screen to sleep when closed and wake it when opened, which saves battery between uses. The cover is made for the Tab A12 series, so it fits this 7.5 mm body properly rather than loosely like a universal case.
- Smart Book Cover included
- Folds into a viewing stand
- Sleep and wake with the cover
Tempered glass protector and a fitted film
A protective film comes pre-installed on the screen, and a tempered glass screen protector is also in the box for stronger protection against scratches and knocks. A glass protector for a 12-inch tablet would normally cost extra, and fitting one on day one keeps the display in good condition.
With the cover, the glass and the stylus all included, the Tab A12 Pro is ready to hand to a child, take to college or keep in a work bag without any extra shopping. If you also want a car mount or a keyboard, any standard Bluetooth keyboard pairs over Bluetooth 5.0.
- Tempered glass screen protector included
- Protective film pre-installed
- 18W charger and USB-C cable included

Frequently asked questions
Does the Tab A12 Pro work on Irish networks?
Yes. It supports the main LTE bands used in Ireland, including Band 3 (1800MHz), Band 7 (2600MHz) and Band 20 (800MHz), which carries 4G coverage in rural areas and indoors. Use a nano SIM with a data plan from any Irish network.
Can I make phone calls on it?
Yes. With a SIM inserted it can make and receive calls and texts, and it supports VoLTE where your network offers it. Most people use it with a data-only SIM and call over WhatsApp or Teams.
Does it come with a charger?
Yes. The box includes an 18W AC charger and a 100cm USB-C to USB-C cable, along with the Smart Book Cover, a capacitive stylus and a tempered glass screen protector.
Can I use a memory card and two SIMs at the same time?
No. The tray takes two nano SIMs, or one nano SIM and a microSD card up to 2TB. The memory card shares the second SIM slot.
Does Netflix play in HD?
Yes. The tablet is Widevine L1 certified, which Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video need for HD playback. The quality you get also depends on your subscription plan and connection speed.
Is the stylus pressure-sensitive?
No. It is a capacitive stylus that works like a fine fingertip, good for notes, annotating PDFs and drawing apps. It needs no pairing or charging, but it has no pressure levels or palm rejection.
Does it have a headphone jack?
Ulefone doesn’t list a 3.5mm headphone jack for the Tab A12 Pro. Use Bluetooth 5.0 headphones or earbuds, or a pair with a USB-C plug.
Can I use it with a keyboard?
Yes. Any standard Bluetooth keyboard pairs over Bluetooth 5.0, and Android 16 supports split-screen for working in two apps at once.
Is 8GB of RAM enough?
For streaming, browsing, office apps, video calls, homework and popular games, yes, and it is twice the RAM of the Redmi Pad 2 4G. The optional 8GB of dynamic RAM helps keep more apps open, though it is slower than the physical memory.
Should I buy the Tab A12 Pro or the Redmi Pad 2 4G?
Take the Tab A12 Pro for the bigger 12.2″ screen, 8GB of RAM, LTE Band 20 and the accessories in the box. Take the Redmi Pad 2 4G for a lighter 510 g body, a sharper 11″ screen and Xiaomi HyperOS.
Who handles the warranty?
mStore.ie does, here in Ireland. If something goes wrong, contact us and we will arrange the repair or replacement without you having to send the tablet abroad.
