Redmi Watch 6 Active: an everyday smartwatch that rarely needs charging
The Redmi Watch 6 Active is Xiaomi's budget smartwatch for people who want notifications, calls and fitness tracking without charging every night. Its 470 mAh battery is rated for up to 18 days of light use, 12 days of normal use with all health monitoring switched on, and 6 days even with the Always-on Display running.
The screen is a 1.85″ square AMOLED at 390 × 450 pixels and 322 PPI, peaking at 1200 nits so it stays readable outdoors. It sits in a body just 9.9 mm thick and 26 g without the strap, with a flat frame, matte rounded corners and 2.5D curved glass. A built-in speaker and microphone let you take and make Bluetooth calls from your wrist while your phone stays in your pocket.
Health tracking covers all-day heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and sleep, with vibration alerts for abnormal heart rate or low blood oxygen, plus guided breathing and cycle tracking. It works with both Android 8.0 and iOS 14.0 or later. One thing to know up front: despite its IP68 rating, Xiaomi says it is not suitable for swimming, showers or pools.

Take calls with a raise of your wrist
A built-in speaker and microphone let you answer and make calls from the watch while your phone stays in your bag or on the gym bench. The watch needs to stay connected to your phone over Bluetooth, and calls made through third-party apps such as WhatsApp are not currently supported.

Around-the-clock health tracking
The optical sensor on the back tracks heart rate and blood oxygen through the day and night, and the watch vibrates to alert you if heart rate looks abnormal or blood oxygen drops too low. Sleep, stress and a daily vitality score round out the picture. It is a wellness tracker, not a medical device.

Frequently asked questions
Can I swim with the Redmi Watch 6 Active?
No. Although it is IP68 rated, Xiaomi states it is not suitable for swimming pools, swimming near the shore, showers, hot springs, saunas or high-speed water sports. It handles sweat, rain and hand-washing splashes. Water resistance is not permanent and liquid damage beyond the IP68 test conditions is not covered by warranty.
Does it work with an iPhone?
Yes. It pairs with iPhones running iOS 14.0 or later, and with Android phones running Android 8.0 or later.
Can I take calls on the watch?
Yes. It has a built-in speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calling, so you can answer and make regular phone calls from your wrist. The watch must stay connected to your phone over Bluetooth, and voice calls through third-party apps such as WhatsApp are not currently supported.
How long does the battery last?
Xiaomi's lab testing gives up to 18 days of light use, around 12 days of normal use with all-day health monitoring on, and about 6 days of heavy use with the Always-on Display enabled. Real results depend on your settings and how often you exercise and take calls.
Does it come with a charger?
It comes with a magnetic charging cable. There is no wall plug in the box — plug the cable into any USB port or USB phone charger you already have.
Does it have built-in GPS?
Xiaomi's specification lists a heart rate and blood oxygen sensor and an accelerometer, and does not list a GPS module. If accurate route maps and distance on outdoor runs matter to you, plan to take your phone with you.
Can I pay contactlessly with it?
No NFC is listed in the specification, so contactless payments are not supported on this model.
What wrist sizes does the strap fit?
The included TPU strap fits wrists from 135 to 205 mm. It uses a quick-release design, so you can swap it for another strap with a press, no tools required.
Is it a medical device?
No. The heart rate, blood oxygen, stress and sleep features are for general wellness and are not designed to diagnose, prevent or treat any condition. Talk to a doctor if you have concerns about your health.
