Xiaomi 18 Fold in Ireland: Will It Launch in Europe?

The short answer

Not yet, and possibly never. Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 18 Fold in China only. It has not announced a global or European version, so there is no official Irish price or release date, and no authorised seller in Ireland can stock it.

If you want a Xiaomi flagship with full EU warranty, the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max are getting a global launch, and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is in stock now.

When was the Xiaomi 18 Fold released?

Xiaomi unveiled the 18 Fold in China on 7 September 2026, and sales there started on 10 September. The starting price in China is ¥10,999, which is roughly €1,300 before any import costs.

Will the Xiaomi 18 Fold come to Europe?

Xiaomi hasn’t said. So far it has only confirmed a China release, and reports since launch suggest there is no global rollout planned. Xiaomi’s foldables have mostly stayed in China in the past, so we wouldn’t count on a European launch.

If Xiaomi does confirm a global version, we’ll update this page with the Irish price and release date.

What makes the Xiaomi 18 Fold different?

It’s a new shape for a Xiaomi foldable: wider and shorter than the old Mix Fold phones, roughly passport-sized when closed. Xiaomi calls it a “mid-fold”. Key details from the China launch:

  • 5.38-inch outer screen and 7.58-inch inner screen
  • Xiaomi’s own Xring O3 chip
  • Leica triple camera, including a 200MP main camera and a zoom lens
  • 6,000mAh battery
  • IP59 water and dust resistance
  • HyperOS 4 based on Android 17 (China version)

Should you import a Chinese Xiaomi 18 Fold?

We’d advise against it, especially for a foldable:

  • Repairs: foldable screens and hinges are the parts most likely to need repair. With a China-only model, parts and service in Ireland may not be available, and the inner screen protector is meant to be replaced by Xiaomi’s own service team.
  • Warranty: China-market phones usually aren’t covered by warranty in Ireland or the EU.
  • Software: Chinese units run the China version of HyperOS, without Google Play or Google apps built in.
  • Network bands: not every 4G and 5G band used by Irish networks may be supported.
  • Import costs: VAT and customs charges can be added on delivery from outside the EU, on top of reseller mark-ups.
