POCO X8 Pro 5G
POCO X8 Pro: flagship-class speed, a 6500mAh battery and 100W charging
MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500-Ultra, a 6.59″ 1.5K AMOLED that peaks at 3500 nits and a 50MP Sony camera with OIS, in a metal-framed, IP68 body just 8.38 mm thin. EU version, shipped from our Irish warehouse.

POCO X8 Pro at a glance
The POCO X8 Pro is POCO’s performance-first mid-ranger: a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra chip, LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage, a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED at up to 120Hz, a 6500mAh battery with 100W HyperCharge, and a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with optical image stabilisation. It runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and is rated IP68 for dust and water.
It’s built for people who want flagship-level speed and battery life without paying flagship money: mobile gamers, heavy video and social users, and anyone stepping up from a Redmi Note. As an authorised Xiaomi reseller, mStore.ie sells the EU version with Irish VAT included, so there are no customs charges and it’s ready for Irish networks out of the box.
Dimensity 8500-Ultra, with every core a big core
MediaTek dropped the small efficiency cores: all eight CPU cores are performance cores, topping out at 3.4GHz on TSMC’s 4nm process. MediaTek quotes 7% more CPU and 25% more GPU performance than the previous generation, and POCO’s lab measured 2,283,558 on AnTuTu V11.
- Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage
- 3D dual-layer IceLoop cooling with a 5300mm² area, cutting chip temperature by up to 3°C (POCO lab)
- WildBoost Optimization scales CPU, GPU and memory frequency on the fly
- Up to 90FPS Smart frame rate and 1.5K Super resolution in selected games (via software update)
- 480Hz touch sampling, rising to 2560Hz instant touch in Game Turbo mode

3500 nits, so the sun doesn’t win
The 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED (2756 × 1268, 460ppi) refreshes at up to 120Hz and peaks at 3500 nits, with 2000 nits in high-brightness mode for everyday outdoor use. Bezels are 1.5 mm on three sides and 1.7 mm at the bottom, giving a 94.1% screen-to-body ratio.
- 3840Hz PWM dimming for steadier viewing at low brightness
- HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, 12-bit colour (68 billion colours), DCI-P3 gamut
- Wet Touch Display 2.0 keeps working with wet fingers
- TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light (hardware), Flicker Free and Circadian Friendly
- Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front

6500mAh that refills in 48 minutes
Silicon-carbon battery chemistry packs 6500mAh (typical) into an 8.38 mm body, 500mAh more than the POCO X7 Pro. With a 100W HyperCharge adapter, POCO’s lab took it from 1% to 100% in 48 minutes in Top speed mode with the screen off.
- 9+ hours of gaming, 12+ hours of video calls, 20+ hours of social media (POCO lab figures)
- 27W wired reverse charging: top up earbuds, a watch or another phone over USB-C
- PD 3.0 / PD 2.0 and 100W PPS compatible, so quality USB-C chargers work too
- No charger in the box: pair it with a 100W HyperCharge adapter for full speed

50MP Sony IMX882 with optical stabilisation
The main camera pairs a 1/1.95″ Sony IMX882 sensor with a bright f/1.51 aperture and OIS. It merges four pixels into one 1.6μm super pixel, so it gathers more light indoors and after dark, while OIS steadies handheld night shots and video. An 8MP ultra-wide covers landscapes and tight rooms, and the 20MP selfie camera widens to 0.8× for group shots.
- 4K video at 30/60fps; slow motion up to 960fps
- UltraSnap bursts of up to 120 photos for fast-moving kids, pets and sport
- AI Cutouts, AI Beautify, AI Reflection Removal and AI Creativity Assistant
- Film filters in classic positive and negative styles

Metal frame, glass back, IP68
A metal middle frame and glass back keep it solid at 201.47 g and 8.38 mm thick. It’s rated IP68, tested to 1.5 m of fresh water for 30 minutes under lab conditions, so rain, spills and a dropped-in-the-sink moment are covered by the design rather than by luck.
- Three colours: Mint Green, White (with a racing stripe) and Black
- Dynamic RGB light: 8 colours for calls and notifications, plus music and game effects
- Protective case included in the box
- Xiaomi notes that liquid damage isn’t covered by warranty, so IP68 is a safety net, not a swimming licence

What’s in the POCO X8 Pro box
Power adapter not included. For the full 100W charging speed, use a Xiaomi 100W HyperCharge adapter.
POCO X8 Pro FAQs
Does the POCO X8 Pro come with a charger?
No. The box contains the phone, a USB Type-C cable, a protective case, a SIM eject tool and paperwork. To reach the full 100W HyperCharge speed (1–100% in 48 minutes in POCO’s lab), use a Xiaomi 100W HyperCharge adapter. Other USB-C PD or PPS chargers will work at lower speeds.
Will the POCO X8 Pro work on Three, Vodafone and Eir in Ireland?
Yes. It’s the EU version and supports the bands Irish networks use, including n78 for 5G and the 700MHz and 800MHz low bands for rural coverage. It’s sim-free and unlocked, so any Irish SIM works. VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling depend on your operator.
Is the POCO X8 Pro waterproof?
It’s rated IP68 for dust and water resistance, tested to 1.5 m of fresh water for 30 minutes under lab conditions. That covers rain and spills, but Xiaomi notes that liquid damage isn’t covered by warranty, so avoid swimming or showering with it.
Does the POCO X8 Pro have a microSD slot or eSIM?
There’s no microSD slot, so choose 256GB or 512GB to suit how much you store. The phone takes two physical nano-SIMs; eSIM isn’t listed in Xiaomi’s UK specification.
Does the POCO X8 Pro have a headphone jack?
No. Use wireless earbuds (it supports Bluetooth 6.0 with LDAC, LHDC 5.0 and Auracast) or USB-C headphones.
What’s the difference between the POCO X8 Pro and POCO X7 Pro?
The X8 Pro moves to the Dimensity 8500-Ultra, raises peak brightness from 3200 to 3500 nits, grows the battery from 6000mAh to 6500mAh, increases wired charging from 90W to 100W and ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 3.
How fast is delivery in Ireland?
Order before 2pm for next-working-day delivery, shipped from our Irish warehouse to all 32 counties. Delivery is free on orders over €100, and Irish VAT is already included, so there are no customs charges.

Specifications are provided by Xiaomi (mi.com/uk) and may vary by region or production batch. Available storage and RAM are less than the total because the operating system and pre-installed software use part of it. Performance, battery life and charging figures are from POCO internal lab tests under specific conditions; real-world results depend on usage, settings, network and temperature. Some features (including Smart frame rate, 1.5K Super resolution and AI Reflection Removal) arrive via software update and work only in selected apps or games. *Band 66 / n66 (70MHz): UL 1710–1780MHz, DL 2110–2180MHz.
